Welcome to my first official blog on my NEWLY created yet re-launched website! I’m excited to share with you parts of my life that I hope will inspire you, move you to exercise and become that person you were always meant to be.
If we haven’t met, my name is Angie Stewart-Goka and the pleasure is all mine to meet you. Originally from Savannah, Georgia, I moved to Los Angeles 7 years ago to pursue my dreams in the world of fitness. Hard work, lots of luck and down-home roots made for a very successful “match” for me here in the fitness capital of the world. LA had me at “hello Santa Monica Bluff” where people of all ages congregated for a run, a bike ride, a 168-stair climb, a hike in the mountains, surfing, swimming and yoga on the beach.
Contributing “live” bits of inspirational fitness stories and guidance is one small way I can contribute on a larger scale to help a world gone – well – um…uh…crazy. We need to get out of our seats daily and feel good about who we are and what we do. We need to leave mediocrity and elevate. We need to understand that good is the enemy of great. We can start to do this with the advice of an old 17th century adage I’ve literally and figuratively taken to heart, “the wise, for cure, on exercise depend.” When we move more, we feel better, we do more, we contribute more, we engage our minds more and become – well– um…uh…less crazy.
So here’s to a good start and life-long greetings of motivation, perspiration and inspiration! Go forth and do good things, and sweat at least once a day while you are at it!
